NEW DUE DATE TO BE ENROLL IN THE MERCHANTS AND BUSINESS MANDATORY REGISTRY WILL BE SEPTEMBER 10, 2010

Due to the weather alerts related to the warnings of Hurricane Earl and the instructions of the government to close all their offices on August 30, 2010 until August 31, 2010, the Commercial Development Administration of Puerto Rico (the CDA) extend the due date to enroll in the Merchants and Business Mandatory Registry until September 10, 2010.

 As we informed in our last notice regarding this issues, the CDA has an electronic system to perform the registration using the following address: www.comercioyexportacion.com, in the area of online services section (Servicios en Linea, in Spanish). The merchant will get a certification immediately after complete the process, which shall be sufficient proof of filing before any governmental agencies requesting evidence of compliance with the Act.

In cases where the merchant have no access to the Internet, they may be registered in the Central Offices of the CDA in Hato Rey calling to 787-294-0101, or through the Business Development Centers located in Arecibo (787-878-3254), Carolina (787-776-2966 / 3995), Ponce (787-842-9784) and Mayagüez (787-832-0526 / 0537).
